Questcor has a jump on its competitors when it comes to information systems. Questcor information technology includes capabilities such as electronic data interchange, electronic funds transfer, real-time production reporting and top-of-the-line inventory management tools.
Our extranet provides customers access to their specs, orders, history and warehouse inventory via a simple Web address and password. Internally, our Amtech Imaginera software offers a real-time inventory and processing data management system. It allows customer service and production departments to interface immediately in order to provide our customers with accurate and up-to-date information at the touch of a button. Imaginera is found at many large integrated facilities, but rarely implemented at this level at an independent manufacturer like Questcor.
We also work very closely with our vendors to incorporate their technology into our system. When we enter a purchase order with one of our raw material suppliers, it is automatically entered into their scheduling system. This cuts out a step for Customer Service and limits the possibility of human error. Also, a very strict back-up procedure is followed daily and again at month’s end—emergency recovery plans are in place and mock shut downs practiced, in case of the unexpected.
